Peace Walk 2022 by Breakthrough Project

The 5th annual Peace Walk is coming October 15, 2022 to Lodi, California. Presented by Breakthrough Project, this year’s theme is Ubuntu.

Grab your walking shoes because the Peace Walk is back! Hosted by The Breakthrough Project for Social Justice, all are welcome on Saturday October 15, 2022 at 10:00am – 3:00pm. Beginning at Blakley Park and ending at Hale Park in Lodi, we walk together under the theme of one root, Ubuntu.

What is Ubuntu? It is healing through connection. Using the rejuvenating power of drums, we will share our cultures from around the world. It just might surprise you how similar we our in our traditions and arts.

The Peace Walk is an annual celebration of the variety of cultures that enrich our livable, lovable city. The mission is to give all in the area an opportunity to have new experiences, make new friends, support our neighbors, and promote peace in our community.

Portions of The Breakthrough Project’s origin documentary will be filmed at this year’s Peace Walk. Founded in 1996 after a cross burning on one of Lodi’s school campuses, The Breakthrough Project’s goal has been to foster peace and understanding within the surrounding community.

Hector Madrigal
