Animal Friends Connection asks for help after being evicted

The Animal Friends Connection Humane Society has been located at 933 S Cherokee Ln. in Lodi since 2000; that is, until their landlord sold their property to a new buyer.

Patricia Sherman, President of Animal Friends Connection, informed the community of their eviction through a Facebook post on January 29, 2021. There she stated they have around six months to find a new location.

“If anyone knows someone that owns anywhere from a 1/3 of an acre or more and is not using it please ask them if AFC can have it or possibly purchase it reasonably. Also a home in a commercial area could work for us.”

President Sherman also created a Go Fund Me fundraiser asking for financial assistance or a new location to run the non-profit.

The Animal Friends Connection Humane Society has been an educational, rescue, and adoption agency since 1990, serving the Greater Lodi – San Joaquin Area. Over the past 31 years they have rehomed 20,000 cats and dogs, and provided many major medical services. They are strictly a no-kill non-profit organization run solely by donations. The current shelter location houses up to 40 cats and 35 dogs.
